At 3Strands, we believe marriage was never meant to be done alone. A healthy, Christ-centered marriage doesn’t just happen—it’s built intentionally, with wisdom, community, and God at the center.

Our mission is simple: to help engaged and newlywed couples lay a strong foundation for a marriage that lasts a lifetime and impacts generations.

Why We Exist?

Many couples enter marriage with love but little preparation. The truth is, feelings of love are not enough to carry a marriage through the challenges of life. Without the right tools, guidance, and community, couples often find themselves struggling unnecessarily.

That’s where 3Strands comes in. We walk with couples during their most formative years—from engagement through the first five years of marriage—to provide them with biblical wisdom, practical tools, and a supportive community.

Meet the Founder

Charmecia Okpara, M.S.

I’m Charmecia Okpara, the founder and lead educator at 3Strands. I wear many hats: wife, mother, mentor, entrepreneur, upcoming author, and Executive Pastor. I have a Master’s Degree in Family Studies with a specialization in Christian Counseling from Amberton University, which has equipped me to guide couples with both biblical wisdom and practical, research-based tools. At the heart of it all, I am deeply passionate about helping couples build Christ-centered marriages that impact generations.

Over twelve years ago, I met my college sweetheart, Joshua Okpara. Since then, we’ve gotten married, welcomed our amazing son Josiah, and embarked on a beautiful journey that has revealed to me the true power of Kingdom marriage. Together, Joshua and I launched a ministry that has allowed us to mentor, coach, and even officiate weddings for numerous couples. Those experiences opened my eyes to the great need for intentional marriage education, leading me to establish 3Strands.

My heart for 3Strands is simple but urgent: to build a community of couples who are inspired to do marriage God’s way. Too many step into marriage because it feels like the right next step or a box to check off before a certain age. But I believe marriage is so much more—it carries a divine purpose that can transform families and leave a legacy for generations.

I’m passionate about equipping couples with tools that prevent struggles before they begin. I often say, “prevention is better than cure.” Once the knot is tied, it’s much harder, and sometimes even devastating, to untie. That’s why I love teaching on courtship, marriage preparation, and early marriage, so couples can start strong and stay strong.

And because I’m human too, when I’m not speaking, coaching, or leading, you’ll probably find me Googling random things (Dr. Google is my best friend 😂), shopping for earrings or lip gloss, or watching a funny video that makes me laugh until I cry.

At the end of the day, my greatest joy is seeing couples not just survive marriage, but thrive in it—leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and strength.

Joshua Okpara, MBA

Pastor Joshua Okpara is a Pastor, Counselor, Life Coach, author, and leadership mentor who is passionate about helping individuals and couples build healthy, purpose-filled, Christ-centered lives. As the Senior Pastor of Faith Filled Church, he is known for his practical biblical teaching, leadership development, and heart for people.

With a background in strategic leadership, communications, and community engagement, Joshua has spent years mentoring leaders, coaching individuals through life transitions, and helping people strengthen communication, navigate conflict, and grow in purpose. He is also the author of more than 21 published books focused on leadership, faith, personal growth, and purpose.

At 3Strands, Joshua serves as a Pastor Counselor and Life Coach, equipping couples with biblical wisdom and practical tools to build strong Kingdom marriages rooted in love, unity, and intentionality. Alongside his wife, Charmecia, he is passionate about helping couples not just survive marriage, but truly thrive in it.
